What Our Customers Think
Frequently Asked Questions About Peppermint Oil for Rats
Can Peppermint Oil Be Used to Deter Rats Effectively?
Peppermint oil is often used to create an environment that rats may find unpleasant due to its strong scent. While it doesn't harm them, the aroma may help discourage them from entering certain areas.
Where Should I Apply Peppermint Oil to Prevent Rat Infestations?
Focus on places where rats tend to enter or nest, such as garages, attics, crawl spaces, baseboards, and cracks in walls. Apply peppermint oil to cotton balls or cloth and place them in those areas for best effect.
How Long Does Peppermint Oil Keep Rats Away?
The scent of peppermint oil fades over time. Typically, it remains strong for 2–3 days, after which it should be refreshed to maintain its deterrent effect.
Is Peppermint Oil Enough, or Should I Combine It With Traps?
Peppermint oil can be a helpful part of a broader strategy for managing rats, especially for mild issues. However, for more persistent problems, it’s often best to pair peppermint oil with other methods such as humane traps or exclusion techniques.
How Often Should I Reapply Peppermint Oil to Maintain Its Effectiveness?
Reapply every 2–3 days, or whenever the aroma begins to fade. Regular maintenance is key to ensuring the scent stays noticeable and continues to support a rat-free space.
Excellent!
It was easy to order, and when delivery was delayed, I was offered a discount. Very generous!
Great purchase
Exactly what we needed. I put it in spray bottle mixed with water and spray around the cars, driveway and home. Love the product. Thanks!
Excellent and truly pure oil.
Great packaging, just loved the protective materials and box the oil was in. The oil is very strong and potent. I put about 1/8 teapoon onto a paper napkin, tossed the napkin in the vicinity of wild Roof rats, under the manufactured home but they are not in the walls thankfully, and walked away. Next night, not a peep, chew, nothing. I have used every kind of Peppermint oil made and this one oil, due to it's strength, is the only one that has succeeded. No more hiring a rat trapper which has been unsuccessful. Just going to Peppermint bomb them from now on. *No photo or video because the rats are hidden under the home's underbelly sheeting.
