Helichrysum italicum is a dense bush characterized by narrow, silvery-gray leaves and bright yellow flowers. With an aroma strongly reminiscent of curry, this plant is often called “the curry plant”; however, its Latin name actually means “immortal,” which is why it is also commonly referred to as the “everlasting flower.”
Native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean, Helichrysum essential oil is produced by steam-distilling the stems, leaves, and flowers, resulting in a complex aroma with herbaceous and floral notes. Today, it is commonly found in perfumes and personal care products. Historically, Helichrysum has been used in traditional practices across Italy, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
