Neem Oil for Spider Mites

Neem oil is created from the neem tree which is most commonly found in India. It is often used for natural pest control and plant care because it is generally nontoxic to plants and the environment.

You can use neem oil to treat plants for spider mites; simply mix a few drops of neem oil with some water and dish soap in a spray bottle and spray the top and bottom of plant leaves. You may also want to spritz some of the mixture into the soil of the plant.

The mixture is effective for up to seven days, during which time it is said to smother spider mites and kills off existing populations; the smell can also repel insects and prevent reinfestation. Reapply neem oil every seven days for optimum benefits and protection.
