Myrrh Oil for Skin

Derived from the resin of the myrrh tree that is commonly found in northern Africa and the Middle East, myrrh essential oil has a reputation for being luxurious. It has traditionally been gifted to royalty and used in a number of perfumes and cosmetic products thanks to its rich woody and sweet aroma and essential properties for boosting skin and hair health.

This oil can be deeply moisturizing and is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog up pores. You can use it to moisturize delicate skin and help to hydrate acne-prone skin; myrrh essential oil can also help to fight the bacteria that causes acne. Because myrrh oil is so hydrating it can also soothe areas of itchy red skin or treat conditions such as eczema, providing relief from cracked or chapped skin and nourishing on a cellular level. You can use myrrh essential oil on your skin by adding it to a carrier oil and massaging it into skin daily or by blending a few drops into your favorite body or face lotion.
