Strong herbal smell, but works nicely as a skin moisturizer
I've gotten in the habit of using body oils for skin moisturization after baths or showers to help prevent dry skin. I knew that Black Cumin Seed Oil is often used in skincare preparations and is known for possible anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I've been using this product from Essential Delights for the past week or so and have been very satisfied with how it performs. The 4oz bottle is brown to help prevent any environmental damage, and there is a dispenser cap in the bottle (although mine isn't working but that may just be user error). I've been dispensing out a small amount daily into my palm and rubbing into my skin. The oil does have a relatively strong scent, sort of pungent, earthy herbal smell, but it's not offensive and dissipates quickly. The oil also has a yellowish tint although I have so far not had any issues with skin discoloration or staining on my clothing after application. The oil goes on smoothly and absorbs well--I didn't feel greasy afterwards and have not had any irritation. The company also claims this formula is made in the USA, is USDA certified organic, is Vegan friendly and cruelty free. Overall for the price (just under $15 at the time of this review), this is a very good value for this type of oil and I have been really happy with it as a moisturizer so far.
Lovely scent, perfect carrier oil
I got a bottle of black cumin to use as a carrier oil for my lilac and grapefruit oils. It's a lovely scent, but also nice and mellow as a carrier should be. It feels velvety smooth and absorbs well, and carries the scent of my essential oils well. The bottle has the built-in dispenser for drops, so I don't have to dig out any tools and it's easy to measure. The price is excellent for 4 oz.
