Neem Oil for Pesticide

Neem oil is a natural pesticide that is derived from the seeds of the neem tree. The oil ranges in color from yellow to brown and has an oniony sulfur smell. Neem oil has been historically used to repel insects and other pests and is still used today as a natural pesticide. Proper application of neem oil may protect your plants from infestation by various insects and act as a safer alternative than potentially toxic chemicals.

To use neem oil as a pesticide, combine a few drops of the oil with a few drops of dish soap and add to a large spray bottle of water. Make sure the mixture is thoroughly blended and then spray it on any plant that you wish to protect. You can also spray your mixture directly on insects to kill them; the mixture works by interrupting their feeding and breeding habits.

For infestations around your plants, use your neem oil once daily for at least two weeks, and then reapply it to protect your plants as needed.
